Mariia Khristosenko

I am a photographer based in the Netherlands with a passion for travel photography and cityscapes. I used to work as a pastry chef, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, I took up photography as a hobby. It became such a big part of my life that it eventually turned into my profession.

I pay close attention to composition, and to the way in which lines, shapes, colours and small details can make a scene visually interesting. For me, photography is also a way of remembering not only what a place looked like, but also how it felt to be there: the feeling of a moment, an unstaged slice of life. I try to capture that in my street and travel photography, but also in my work for clients, where I specialise in portrait photography in urban settings.
